Install the Vinkit extension

Go to the Chrome Web Store to install Vinkit.

Install the Vinkit extension

If you don’t have the extension yet:
  1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for Vinkit.
  2. Click Add to Chrome.
  3. Confirm by clicking Add extension.
  4. The Vinkit icon appears in your extensions bar.
Pin the extension for quick access: click the puzzle icon in Chrome, then click the pin next to Vinkit.

Check for extension updates

Updates bring new features and important fixes. Here’s how to make sure you are using the latest version.

Open the extensions page

In Chrome, access the extensions page by one of these methods:
  • Type chrome://extensions in the address bar
  • Or click the three dots (Chrome menu) > Extensions > Manage extensions

Enable developer mode

In the top right corner of the extensions page, enable Developer mode (toggle switch).

Update extensions

Click the Update button that appears at the top of the page. Chrome checks and installs available updates for all your extensions.

Verify the Vinkit version

Find the Vinkit extension in the list and check the displayed version number.To find out the latest available version:
  • Check the extension page on the Chrome Web Store
  • Or check in Vinkit > Settings > About (within the extension itself)
If the version shown in chrome://extensions matches the latest version on the Chrome Web Store, your extension is up to date.

Enable automatic updates

By default, Chrome updates extensions automatically. If your updates are not installing:
  1. Make sure Chrome itself is up to date: Menu > Help > About Google Chrome.
  2. Restart Chrome completely (close all windows and reopen).
  3. Automatic updates typically apply within a few hours.
If you installed the extension manually (outside the Chrome Web Store), automatic updates will not work. You will need to update the extension manually with each new version.

Extension troubleshooting

  1. Go to chrome://extensions.
  2. Check that Vinkit is in the list and the toggle is enabled (in blue).
  3. If the extension is not listed, reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store.
  1. Disable then re-enable the extension in chrome://extensions.
  2. If the problem persists, remove the extension and reinstall it.
  3. Log back in to your Vinkit account in the extension.
Some extensions (ad blockers, VPNs, etc.) can interfere with Vinkit. Try:
  1. Temporarily disabling other extensions.
  2. Testing Vinkit on its own.
  3. Re-enabling extensions one by one to identify the conflict.
